You probably all remember last year’s successful Pleasure Hunt from Magnum and the agency Lowe Brindfors and now it’s time to play once again.
This time you will be challenged with buzy streets in New York, fly over Paris and surf the waves of Rio De Janeiro. Again the hunt is well-executed (even with Bing), actually fun to play and leave you with the urge to travel and eat a giant Magnum - To play click here.
General Electric and BBDO: Man versus Machines - Interaction during Super Bowl XLVI
One overall point of criticism of the different Super Bowl ads was the lack of integration with other media and thereby that brands neglected the opportunity to prolong the campaigns offscreen. The majority of the ads were in fact “only” entertaining TV ads without any further activation or engagement.
However, General Electric and BBDO New York created an interactive game for GE that ran during the Super Bowl on an NBC sports microsite. The game ‘Performance Machines’ cleverly took NFL players head to head against GE’s ‘super machines’ (such as a train, jet engine and microwave oven), in nine interactive battles.
Visitors of the site were invited to help each athlete win the competitions using their voice and keyboard. The site used 591 videos to create an immersive, experience and the results suggest that it was a success.
Super Bowl XLVI - 2012: VW Game Day Teaser and Commercial
As most of you probably know and remember Volkswagen had the coolest and greatest Super Bowl ad with the cute Darth Vader kid. “The Force” commercial was a major hit not only on-air during the game but also online with 50+ million views and even won Gold at Cannes Lions.
Since the Super Bowl XLVI is approaching it’s time to look ahead on what’s to expect. During January VW have seeded a game day teaser with “The Bark Side”, which has already reached more than 10 million views on Youtube.
However, that’s not all - VW has already launched the extended version of the 2012 Game Day commercial and it too is getting lot of attention.
I certainly understand why, “The Dog Strikes Back” is sweet, emotional and not least entertaining once again.
Besides VW, AdAge has collected all other Super Bowl XLVI ads, which already have been released. You can spoil the surprise by watching the ads here or check out the VW below.
NBA: “So Happy Together” - Big League with Big Players
As you may know the NBA lockout is history and the league is up and running with matches almost everyday.
To ensure that the American viewers are aware of the league is back on, Goodby Silverstein and Partners have produced this ad or promo for the NBA organization.
The ad features all the biggest and highly debatable names in basketball, including the Miami Three, Rajon Rondo and Shane Battier, all singing the classic song from The Turtles, complete with “big heads” and funny expressions.
It’s an very unusual, entertaining ad and not least totally cool to promote the league in this funky style. Yes, we all know the game, the players and the excitement, we just need to be reminded that it’s time to tune in and get tickets.
The big-bobblehead commercial started airing in the US over the Christmas weekend and will probably be shared a few times the next couples of days.
BIG Things are coming:
Contrex: Motivation for Exercise with 3D Projection Mapping
Every year, month and day magazines and websites are announcing a new diet. However, To lose weight effectively and permanently, there is no miracle, we must adopt a balanced diet, drink water and do regular exercise.
In September, Nestle hit upon an inspired way to market its Contrex mineral water and the video from the event was among the most shared during October.
The idea was to display a row of exercise bikes on the stairs of an edifice somewhere in France. The bikes, it is soon discovered, power a 3D Projection Mapping display of a male stripper. To see if he go all the way people had to stomp the pedals and get some entertaining exercise.
